The Crucible Act I

Quote:  "  I know how you clutched my back behind your house and sweated lik a stallion whenever I come near!!!.......  I saw your face when she put me out, you loved me then and you do now!!!  "  (Abigail)

Response:  Abigail seems to be full of anger and rage as of now.  She's accussing John Proctor of messing around with her, but he's in total denial.  He claims that he's never even stepped off his farm.  I'm siding with Proctor.  She's just a young girl who seems confused.  She makes it seem like she what she wants and she'll do anything to get it, by any means necessary.

Abigail is really vendictive. She is trying to control Proctor like she does to Mary Warren. Good job(:

Abigail is really confused and really thinks Proctor wants her. Her evil side comes out once again when things aren't going her way. Great job.

Nice job. I have to play Devil's Advocate a little here, though. Proctor does send mixed messages. Shortly after this quote he says in the same line, "I'll cut my hand off before I'll ever reach for you again" AND "we never touched, Abby." I think it's easy to say that Abigail is a vindictive character, she IS. But John Proctor has slept with her and then discarded her, so I wonder if she has any reason to be a little angry....?
